Sessions
Sessions last 1 hour and take place online, via Teams.
I provide lecture-style sessions on SPAG and essay technique, poetry and fiction analysis, and theatrical analysis.
If a tailored approach is preferable, I offer a skills workshopping session; and the next sessions will focus on specific areas for development.
I specialise in tutoring the skills needed when analysing any text. My approach does not involve setting and marking assignments but rather the explanation and discussion of concepts.

The first session is free; then it is £15 per session or £27 for two sessions.

Language analysis is one of the most important aspects of literary criticism. If a student can master this skill, they will be on the way to achieving their target grade. Key areas of language analysis are semantic fields & connotations, repetition, imagery, alliteration, labelling word classes (nouns, verbs, adjectives, etc.) and figurative language, such as metaphors, similes and personification.

4)Point of view (close versus detached)
5)Linear or non-linear plot; flashbacks/ flash-forwards; plot arc
